Tartar and Plaque Removal
During your cleaning, a dentist or dental hygienist will use a tool that removes tartar and plaque from your gum line and in between your teeth. Even daily flossing can’t prevent all plaque buildup, so this is a necessary treatment to prevent gum disease and tooth decay. As every patient is different, your dentist will determine how often plaque and tartar removal is recommended for you.
Physical Exams
This is part of every routine cleaning. During a physical exam, Dr. Shamtoub will inspect your teeth and gums using a small mirror. He will be able to see and notice things that you wouldn’t be able to on your own, like signs of gingivitis or cavities. He can even spot early signs of more serious health issues like oral cancer. A physical exam may be quick and easy, but it’s also important.
X-Rays
We can take x-rays right here at LA Endodontics. X-rays are part of regular dental checkups, but your doctor might recommend an x-ray if you are experiencing a toothache to check for any cracks that could be causing you discomfort. Once again, these services help identify issues that could turn in to more serious (and expensive) problems if left untreated.
Emergency Services
Chipped a tooth eating popcorn? Experiencing pain when you eat hot or cold foods? Sometimes even patients who are diligent about their regular cleanings will need an emergency visit. We’re happy to help you if something comes up. If we can’t fix it, we can refer you to a specialist who can.
